Best Pro Scooter Brands
Posted by SYEDA UME LAYLA
A pro scooter is an upgraded form of a traditional kick scooter. Key benefits include added durability, smoother rideability, and upgradeable replacement parts. Overall, pro scooters do not fold or collapse - even the height is custom cut to size for each specific rider. Whether you are looking for better performance or added durability, pro scooters are the perfect upgrade from your traditional big box scooter.
How do we choose the best pro scooter brands?
In order to find the best pro scooter brands we look at a handful of things; Performance, weight, durability, price, quality, and rider loyalty. The best pro scooter brands balance these key points in an amazing way that promotes rider happiness, which is our most important metric. Some brands go out of their way to make as many products in America as possible. Other brands interact with the pro scooter community - this promotes community satisfaction and growth. United States Pro Scooters has one key mission; to not only get as many kids to experience this amazing sport as possible, but to also promote an amazing atmosphere that cultivates rider growth and happiness so they too can share how amazing pro scooters really are.
Top 10 pro, stunt and trick scooter brands
10. Lucky Pro Scooters
Lucky is an amazing brand with a huge product selection and an outstanding pro team. Because they have such an extensive pro team, Lucky specializes in completes as well as lightweight performance pro scooter parts. With Lightweight scooters you do tend to lose some durability, but that's okay - Lucky did a great job balancing these two characteristics. In terms of price, Lucky has a great spread. The Crew complete is Lucky’s entry level scooter and it retails for about $160 which is a solid price for a pro scooter. It’s worth noting this is not an amazing price point, this is not a bad price point, it is just a fair price point. Loyalty and community outreach is huge for us here at United States Pro Scooters. We love how active Lucky is with sponsoring events and having rider meet ups, they do a great job supporting the community. We rank Lucky at number ten because they are a solid brand. They could use a little more wow factor, but Lucky is without a doubt one of the best pro scooter brands in the world.
9. Aztek Scooters
Aztek could easily be ranked much higher on this list. Our only real complaint is that too many people want their stuff! Specializing in street stunt scooters that are miraculously lightweight and surprisingly durable, there is a huge demand for Aztek products. It’s not completely uncommon for Aztek products to be sold out; so, if you see something you want, get it while you can! Aztek completes start around the $160 price point for their Architect complete. We’d also like to take a minute to note that Aztek’s Fountain Deck is only $100… That’s Insane! We aren’t going to lie and say that Aztek is the most affordable scooter company ever, but the value for price is unmatched. This leads us to Aztek’s community involvement and rider care. Now we will admit Aztek does not have the largest pro team, nor do they sponsor the most events, but Aztek’s products speak for their appreciation of the community. Between the amazing price, quality, and engineering that goes into each scooter and part - it goes without saying Aztek cares. Aztek makes the sport of pro scooters much more accessible by providing so much quality for such fair prices. We love Aztek’s products so they without a doubt make our top ten pro scooter brands list for 2022. Now we just need more!
8. Vokul Scooters
Vokul Scooters is a relatively new brand, but they have definitely impressed us. Although Vokul’s selection of completes aren’t necessarily built with the pro’s in mind, that’s okay! Remember our mission; spreading the greatness of pro scooters. With extremely competitive price points, Vokul makes pro scooters so much more accessible for riders just getting into the sport. Although the Vokul Dyno 2 is their most affordable scooter out right now at $130, we have word that Vokul is finishing production on an all new model for less than $100! The reason we say Vokul isn’t quite ready for the pros is that their scooters are relatively heavy for their size, but man they are durable. Because Vokul is so new they haven’t had the opportunity to become too involved in the community yet, but we know they are trying. Vokul is constantly searching for growing riders to sponsor and they have gone above and beyond to help us with any events we’ve been working on. Most people will be surprised to see Vokul on this list, they are our wildcard. But let it be known we appreciate all the support Vokul has made available to us and we appreciate their mission of making scootering much more accessible. We appreciate Vokul - and that’s why they made our top ten pro scooter brands list for 2022.
7. Hella Grip
Hella Grip is such a unique brand! They found their niche and they do it better than anyone. In the pro scooter world nobody else specializes in griptape like Hella Grip does. With their classic logo in varying styles, Hella Grip is extremely recognizable. Throughout the year Hella Grip will release all new designs - some will play off their classic logo while others will be based on their extremely unique sloth logo. Starting just over $10 a sheet, Hella Grip is extremely reasonably priced for insane quality. Did we mention Hella Grip is a rider owned brand out of northern California? Hella Grip’s support of the pro scooter community is top tier and the community supports them right back. Lifestyle brand is a better way to describe them than pro scooter brand. Between griptape, hand grips, shirts, hoodies, socks, hats, stickers, and accessories - there are countless ways to rep this amazing brand and we highly recommend it! Hella Grip show’s support for the pro scooter community, therefore we support Hella Grip in everything they do. That is why Hella Grip has made our top ten pro scooter brands list for 2022.
6. Oath Components
Wheels, forks, clamps, and hand grips - this is the product catalog for Oath Components. Oath is an extremely interesting brand because they put so much attention to detail. Many pro scooter riders prefer a simple look of all black and/or silver with maybe a touch of color on their wheels or griptape. Other pro scooter riders like to have extremely bright and colorful scooters that really stand out from the pack. This is where Oath Components comes in; being a master of both. Whether you are looking for unique color combinations - like purple with gold, orange with blue, or red with teal - or if you are looking for more subtle pops of color like black with purple accents, gray with red accents, or black with blue accents - Oath Components has everything you need. On top of having beautiful color combinations, Oath Components offers extremely well made durable parts. We don’t have too much to say about the prices of Oath Components, their prices are on par with many pro scooter brands, leaving nothing to complain about nor to praise. Community presence from Oath Components is growing every day and we love to see it! Oath Components has had the chance to fully prove themselves with their recent product designs, but everything we are seeing points to a very successful future filled with many unique products and rider support. Due to their unique parts design and growing brand presence, we had to put Oath Components on our top ten pro scooter brands of 2022 list.
5. Envy Scooters
Quite possibly the largest brand in all of pro scooters; Envy Scooters offers a little bit of everything no matter what type of stunts or tricks you’re attempting. The One S3 by Envy Scooters is their entry level complete and it does not disappoint. Coming in at $140 the Envy One S3 is a scaled down version of larger scooters at an extremely fair price point. The attention to detail on the Envy One S3 is unparalleled at this price point, and deserves plenty of praise. Similar to Oath Components, previously listed, Envy Scooters offers an amazing selection of unique designs, color ways, and sizes. What makes envy stand out to us so much is their extensive product catalog - they have something for everyone! Performance wise, Envy Scooters doesn’t overly stand out, they make consistently solid products at very fair price points. There is a certain responsibility that comes with being such a large brand and Envy definitely delivers when it comes to supporting pro scooter riders. If you’re reading this article, chances are you have heard of Envy Scooters, and there’s a reason for that. Envy Scooters is beyond generous at supporting community events as well as promoting the sport of pro scooters as a whole. The sheer amount of content filmed on Envy Scooters is unrivaled. Envy Scooters is able to produce so much content because they have an extensive team of pro riders who represent and grow the sport as a whole. Whether you are watching Raymond Warner, Will Scott, or Jon Reyes you will be impressed and itching to learn new tricks. When it comes to promoting pro scooters as a sport, Envy Scooters really stepped up to the plate. We are so thankful to Envy Scooters for growing this community little by little while producing eye-catching products with solid quality - that is why Envy Scooters makes our top ten pro scooter brands of 2022 list.
4. UrbanArtt
UrbanArtt was one of the first brands we picked up here at United States Pro scooters, and we are glad we did! Given the name, it is no surprise UrbanArtt is an artisan pro scooter brand with an extreme attention to detail. That being said, UrbanArtt doesn’t offer the most gentle price points. Most UrbanArtt products are priced at or above industry average, but there’s a reason for this. Let’s use the extremely popular Butter Deck as an example. The Butter Deck from UrbanArtt comes in at $250 which is on par with some of the highest quality decks in all of pro scooters. Now it’s worth noting the Butter Deck by UrbanArtt is engineered amazingly well with an overall light weight, unique colors and design, and replaceable dropouts and drop out sleeves for added longevity. So if their engineering is solid like other brands what makes UrbanArtt stand out? Well, not only does UrbanArtt have amazing engineering, they also give you replacement parts when you purchase a Butter Deck. Not only do you get the deck with drop outs and a metal brake included, you also get replacement dropouts as well as a metal fender to replace the brake. We value these add ons to be just under $50 - making the Butter Deck by UrbanArtt a great deal for such beautiful artisanship.UrbanArtt is going through a bit of a “rebirth” and are coming in swinging with amazing products with unrivaled quality. Throughout all this, UrbanArtt has some of the best pro scooter riders representing them on the world stage. We have to give some credit to the scooters these pro riders are choosing, they are being provided with the tools for ultimate success in the form of amazing UrbanArtt products. Did we mention how supportive UrbanArtt has been to the sport of pro scootering? We’ve personally seen it time and time again when UrbanArtt goes out of their way to help us make events a huge success to give back to the pro scooter community. This is not out of the norm for UrbanArtt, we’ve seen them come through to support many of their stores and the community as a whole - because of this, UrbanArtt is a no-brainer for our top ten pro scooter brands of 2022 list.
3. Ride Affinity
Few brands are known and appreciated as much as Affinity. With a huge emphasis on American made products, for Affinity, quality is king. Huge attention to detail goes into each and every part while creating jobs in America for pro scooter riders… we love it! American made doesn’t mean insane prices. On the contrary, Affinity offers high quality products at or below average industry price, it's amazing. When riders are looking for handlebars we typically advise them to expect to spend $80 - $130, but Affinity comes in and offers high quality handlebars between $60 and $80. Did we mention these handlebars are american made? Just making sure. Affinity offers a handful of parts such as handlebars, clamps, griptape, and bolts - hopefully we see more stuff from Affinity in the future because that is the only thing keeping them away from our number one spot. Supporting pro scooter riders is our big goal, and Affinity goes above and beyond to promote that goal. Starting with the fact that Affinity hires pro scooter riders and moving to the fact that they have supported countless events and riders, Affinity is a shining star of what it means to support the pro scooter community. Because of Affinity’s huge quality standards and outstanding support for the pro scooter community, we are extremely excited to include them in our top ten pro scooter brands of 2022 list.
2. Proto
Nothing gets us more excited than setting someone up with their first set of Proto scooter wheels. Classic Proto scooter wheels have been a staple since they first released - the moment you first ride them you’ll know why. Focusing on American sourced materials and being manufactured in sunny San Diego California, Proto is a quality over everything type of company. Not only do Proto scooter wheels roll extremely smoothly, but their durability and longevity are unmatched. It is very rare to see Proto scooter wheels dehub. When you do witness this unicorn of an experience, it’s very clear the wheels were well used and worn down to the brim. Proto scooter wheels aren’t cheap, they’re typically around $90 a pair, but this price point is pretty consistent with other high quality wheels, so we are more than okay with it. Did we mention Proto literally INVENTED the standard compression system (SCS)? They hold the patent to prove it. It is worth noting that Proto does make some relatively heavy pro scooter parts, but for the amount of durability you get, it is a more than fair exchange. If you've read this far, you'll notice we really focus on how well these brands treat the pro scooter community. Proto is definitely a community first brand; they prove it with their words, actions, and products. You see, Proto holds a second patent for Tunglok Deck Integration (TDI). TDI was literally developed to save riders money. With the TDI system a rider no longer has to worry about replacing their whole deck when it breaks. By separating the deck into two parts “Dex” and “Neck” Proto allows the rider to just replace the base of the scooter when it breaks - this can easily save a rider over $100. On top of their product, Proto supports countless pro scooter riders and events in order to grow, promote, and strengthen the pro scooter community. Rider owned, american made, the BEST quality, and caring about the community - these keystones of Proto really stand out to us; which is why Proto makes our top ten pro scooter brands of 2022 list.
1. Tilt
When United States Pro Scooters first opened there wasn’t a single tilt product in sight, and that was a huge mistake. People immediately came in asking for Tilt brand pro scooter parts and it’s very clear why. Tilt offers an extremely diverse product selection of all sorts of varying price points. Between the three “stages” of pro scooter parts that Tilt offers, there's something for every price point. Stage 1 by Tilt is their not so entry level products. The amazing thing about the Stage 1 series by Tilt is the fact that the product quality of their “entry level” line rivals some of the best pro scooter parts on the market for a fraction of the price. Moving up to the Stage 3 series by Tilt, we are talking about some serious quality pro scooter parts with high quality engineering. Whether it’s the Rigid Fork, Theory 3 Deck, or Rigid clamp - the small details really set Tilt apart from the rest. The Stage 3 Rigid Fork is extra beefy to handle any grinding or other pressure it might face. Between the strength and the ability to fit almost every size of pro scooter wheel, the Stage 3 Rigid Fork is a beast. With the release of their Theory 3 Deck, Tilt really created a true work of art. Every size you could possibly want is available in the Theory 3 deck by Tilt. Extra thick welded on dropouts for grinding, a welded on fender to prevent wheel wear, and relatively lightweight durability made us fall in love with the Tilt Theory 3 Deck. Many pro scooter riders prefer to not use their dust cap over their headset, so Tilt went ahead and built a duct cap into their Rigid SCS clamp! These subtle innovations have really added up and goes to show how much Tilt really cares about the quality and ingenuity that goes into each of their pro scooter parts. As always, we have to talk about how Tilt relates to the pro scooter community as a whole. Tilt has some of the best pro scooter riders in the world working with them. If you don’t believe us go check their Instagram and enjoy the endless stunts and tricks their riders accomplish. Whether they know it or not, the Tilt team is a role model for the pro scooter community - and so far, they’re doing pretty awesome! In terms of event sponsorships, giveaways, and support; Tilt relentlessly gives and gives and gives. We can’t say enough good things about the team over at Tilt and our customers can’t say enough good things about Tilt’s products. We’ve always heard you can’t make everyone happy, but Tilt seems to be doing just that - and that’s why Tilt is number one on our top ten pro scooter brands of 2022 list.
